Unplugged Activity: Graph Paper Programming

One student takes on the role of “programmer”, drawing arrows and symbols on paper to guide the other student to re-create a particular picture within the template of the graph paper. View the introduction clip here.

In this instance, the symbols on the left are the “program” and the words on the right are the “algorithm” piece. This means that we could write the algorithm:

“Move one square forward, Move one square forward, Fill-in square with color”
